This is hands down one of the most exciting and ambitious projects we’ve ever tackled with Y2.

After a visit to one of our favorite tanneries in Himeji, Japan, the same crew behind our Eco Horse, Kakishibu, Saddle, and Hand-Dyed Horsehide leathers, we started asking ourselves:

What if a tannery known for their incredible horsehides worked their magic on our new steer hides?

The result?
A veg-tanned, Kakishibu-base, hand-dyed camel steer hide processed just like horsehide.

And what happens when you treat steer hide like horsehide?
You get a heavyweight jacket loaded with rich colour, wild character, and a break-in story that feels downright magical.

We’re beyond stoked about this one.

Hide: 1.3-1.5 mm Veg Tanned Steer hide

Colour: kakishibu base hand dyed camel 

Lining: Wool lining. two internal pockets
